Will He or Won't He?
It's the question everyone wants answered.
Jeff Sanders, a five-year old from Duluth, Minnesota, says he's undecided about a possible run for the presidency in 2036. His parents, Jason and Colleen Sanders, insist their child has not made any firm plans about announcing his candidacy. "He's just a little boy," says Colleen. "With some big ideas," added his father, Jason.
President Jeff Sanders?
Arvin Hill: Carnival of Horror has learned the spirited pre-schooler is being courted by Democratic insiders to run against Noah McCullough, the Texas nine-year old Republican who makes no qualms about his desire to be president. When asked directly if he, too, would like to become president, the pensive Jeff would only say "I don't know." Still, Beltway rumors have been flying for weeks despite the non-denial. "Clearly, he's keeping his options open" said Democratic consultant Joe Trippi, "and so am I."
When shown a picture of McCullough and asked for his thoughts, Jeff said "I hate him," but declined to provide specifics. A confidential source at the Democratic Leadership Council downplayed the aspiring candidate's strong language. "I don't think Jeff really hates Noah. They have their differences, obviously, but there's no doubt Jeff will represent Democrats in a very positive manner."
Senator John Kerry could not be reached for comment.
